5th Annual Festival of Trees

As part of the Christmas in Romney celebration, the 5th Annual Festival of Trees will once again transform the city into a winter wonderland! This beloved community tradition decorates the grounds of the West Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind, located at 301 East Main Street, Romney, WV, with beautifully adorned Christmas trees contributed and decorated by local businesses, schools, civic organizations, and individuals.

Each tree reflects the creativity and holiday spirit of its decorators, creating a breathtaking display for everyone to enjoy throughout the season. Visitors are invited to stroll through the grounds and take in the twinkling lights and festive décor as part of the larger Christmas in Romney celebration.

There are three different ways to participate in the Festival of Trees. 1) Adopt and decorate a tree. 2) Adopt and procure your group to decorate the tree for you. 3) Make a monetary donation. Adoptees are responsible for providing their decorations.

When decorating your tree, please follow these guidelines:

You will be provided one live tree that will already be set up and ready to decorate. A sign will be provided, labeling each tree with your name and/or logo. Trees are the property of Christmas in Romney and are to remain on the property.

Get Creative! Come up with a theme for your tree and have fun with it (themes are not necessary).
Displays must be durable and of a quality that will last for the duration of the event.
Please bring any materials, supplies, and equipment that may needed to decorate your tree (zip ties for ornaments, etc.) You must also bring a heavy duty extension cord(25ft) to plug your tree in.
Please, no paper or glass ornaments.
Trees MUST BE DECORATED between November 25, 2025 through Noon on December 5, 2025
All decorations will remain on the trees through January 2, 2026, and MUST be removed by January 9, 2026. Any decorations and materials not removed by this date will become the property of Christmas in Romney.
Please clean up your space after decorating.
The Town of Romney and The West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
